Further Studies
The Further Studies Team works under the guiding motto “Empowering Students, Inspiring Lifelong Learners”. Its purpose is to help students make informed, responsible, and personally meaningful choices about higher education—whether local or overseas, degree or sub-degree.
Support begins earlier than many people expect. Junior-grade students already receive information and exposure so that subject choices later on are better aligned with possible university pathways. Senior students receive more intensive, individualised guidance. The team disseminates information, arranges talks, prepares reference letters, offers individual consultations, and maintains partnerships with universities. The school is a registered UCAS centre and has built connections with institutions in Japan, Korea, the USA, Canada and elsewhere that offer principal’s recommendation schemes or accredited programmes.
(I) Admission Coaching
Admission Coaching is the most intensive strand of support and is aimed primarily at Grade 12 students who wish to maximise their options, especially for competitive universities.
">
The process is organised around a clear “3A” framework:
-
Application – Students learn about the overall application landscape (local and overseas), key success factors, and how to choose programmes that genuinely suit them. Workshops and Collegelink sessions provide the foundational knowledge.
-
Admission – Focus shifts to meeting specific entry requirements. This includes preparation for interviews, admissions tests, personal statements, and portfolios.
Students targeting Oxford or Cambridge receive specialised training (personal-statement workshops, entrance-exam practice, and interview-skills sessions).
- Acceptance – Individual consultations help students strengthen their applications and improve their chances of receiving offers. Additional professional support is available for outstanding candidates applying to top global universities
The coaching is personalised; students can access different levels of guidance according to their goals and needs.
(II) Local Universities Admission
For students aiming at Hong Kong universities, the school provides a structured series of training sessions from Grade 10 onward.
Both HKDSE and GCEAL students receive guidance on the JUPAS and Non-JUPAS routes. Topics typically include understanding programme requirements, strategic choice of programmes, personal-statement writing, interview preparation, and the importance of a balanced non-academic profile.
Because universities increasingly value co-curricular experiences, leadership, and personal qualities, the Further Studies Team collaborates closely with the Life Planning Team. Together they help senior students build meaningful life-skills experiences and career-related activities that strengthen their overall applications.

(III) Overseas Universities Admission
Students interested in overseas study are invited to specialised workshops run in partnership with external professionals. These workshops cover the key stages of the application process—researching programmes, meeting deadlines, writing personal statements, preparing for interviews or tests, and understanding visa and financial considerations.
Beyond the UK, the school maintains partnerships with universities in other countries (including Japan, Korea, the USA and Canada). These partnerships often include principal’s recommendation schemes and access to accredited learning programmes, giving students additional pathways and, in some cases, preferential consideration.

(IV) Collegelink
Collegelink is the regular seminar series that keeps students and parents informed about study options. Sessions cover both local and overseas pathways. We invite speakers from different universities globally and locally to give students deeper insight into their study options, including specific institutions, popular programmes, admission requirements, and practical tips. Extra seminars are arranged when particular programmes or universities attract strong interest. Information is also shared through Collegelink channels so that families stay up to date throughout the year. The series is open to both junior and senior students, allowing earlier exposure for younger cohorts and more targeted advice for those close to application.
(V) International Benchmarks
The school actively encourages students to sit recognised international assessments at appropriate points in their secondary education. Common examples include IELTS (for English-language proficiency), IGCSE (where relevant to the curriculum pathway), and GAPSK (for Putonghua).
These qualifications serve two purposes: they provide objective evidence of students’ abilities that universities worldwide recognise, and they help students meet specific language or subject requirements for their chosen programmes. The overall aim is to equip students with portable, internationally valued credentials that widen their further-education options.
