Our Grade 3 English students enjoyed an unforgettable Zoom author talk with renowned children's author Dan Gutman, best known for the popular Weird School series.📖
This special event was inspired by our very own Grade 3 student, Teresa Che, who wrote a letter inviting Mr Gutman to visit our school and share his writing journey and tips with our young learners. We were thrilled that he accepted!💌👏
During the session, Mr Gutman shared how he came up with ideas for his stories, explained the inspiration behind his illustrations and quirky rhyming titles, and introduced some of his newest books. Students were especially delighted when he read aloud a chapter from his upcoming book, Mrs Towne Is a Clown, which will be released next week.🤡
Aspiring writers listened eagerly as Mr Gutman explained how to write a story in nine simple steps. One of his most important messages was a powerful reminder to all students: ✍️
